the capital and largest city of the US state of Iowa得梅因（美国艾奥瓦州首府和最大城市）. It began as Fort Des Moines in 1843 and developed into a centre of the Corn Belt. The city also grew because of coal mines in the area. It was named after the Des Moines River which runs through it.
